Gentle leader or Dogmatic?

Its me that is the problem, I pass too much tension down the lead. I've got to let the lead be slack and correct as soon as the reaction starts, turning and walking the other way if necessary.0

'Correct' in what way?0

I had a similar problem with my Lurcher, but I found Halti's, canny collars and dog matic were all a bad fit, she could get out of them all in her stress.
In the end I found Indi-dog who do custom made headcollars, you measure your dog and it fits perfectly. It was the only thing I found that worked for Katy and because its padded, she finds it comfy too. Might be worth a shot!

Good luck with what you are doing! I found that once Katy had the head collar on, she didn't focus quite so much on the dog after a short while because she knew what her behaviour would do. It meant I could get her attention to reward her when another dog went past, and she's so much better now. She's perfect off the lead now, with every dog, and her recall is excellent. She's still a bit hit and miss while on the lead, with certain dogs or certain people walking past (she doesn't like men wearing hats or big, long coats), but she's like a different dog to when we first adopted her.
Hope your dog gets there too!I just enter and forget...hoping to win something!0
