Anyone that falls for these fully deserve to be scammed

it's simple advice of never click on anything you're not sure of

If you don't heed that and your story of being fleeced by some african who needed money to fly over and marry you appears in the paper- expect no sympathy

Sax I do generally agree with you, but I can see how the elderly and vulnerable fall for some of the messages. Not the ones saying you they have suddenly inherited a gazilliion pounds, but some of the ones that look like they come from banks do look very convincing. I am just glad my Mum had the good sense to ring me when she thought the one she got from "paypal" was real. Had she not have consulted me, she may well have given away her eamil address and password.

Yes, I agree! We compers are pretty good at weeding out the scams but the elderly and very young are often clueless and do fall for the scams - so sad! I often feel like replying to the scam email with something very rude but stop myself as I don't want them to think my email is live.

Google "419 eater" BlueBella. There are people who make it their mission in life to teach scammers a lesson. There is one long story/email exchange under "busted" in the archive tab. Its long but hilarious!
