My faves are when they start with, "Dear Costomer" or sometimes "Dearest". Although I hate to think of who falls for it. Must be the most vulnerable I think.

Most of us know that they are spam or phishing, but my Mum (70) got her knickers in knot over one recently and rang me at work in a right old panic over it. The email from paypal said that money was owing for a Skype bill and it looked legit to her. I got her to foward it to to me and I could tell in a heart beat it was nothing to worry about.

For the more tech savvy they are easier to spot, but I do wonder how many people have been sucked in. The senders need stinging up by their privates if you ask me.

PS If you fancy an hour off comping, google 419Eater and read "busted!" in the archives. Had me in stiches in places. There are people out there that dedicate their spare time to giving these scammers a taste or their own medcine.

Sadly these "people" for the want of a better word are targeting and abusing the vunerable/elderly. :(

Saying that some savvy folks must get taken in too because there are often emails copied and pasted onto these forums asking if the email is legitamate or not.

No question is stupid (sometimes tiresome when they have been asked a thousand times) ;)

If in doubt ask about or try Snopes ;)

(BTW a rich Saudi Prince wants to meet me, marry me, and give me his inheritance, I think this one is for real!! :rotfl:)
