£350+ For Hombuyers Survey....

.... and the surveying company was too tight fisted to include a postage paid addressed envelope for me to send back my agreement to their T&Cs for the survey.
I know a postage stamp is cheap but that's not the point.

Anyway, enough of my moaning. :D

£350 sounds pretty reasonable to me! Bit tight about the Ts and Cs though- and couldn't they have emailed? Ours did.

Ha, yep! Ours is 650+VAT and we still need a stamp!! Funnily enough we had this exact observation today too.

Flippin' heck! The guy we used last time is on holiday so can't do ours for at least a couple of weeks. Last year he charged £375 and we were pleased with what he did. Other companies all booked up for at least another four weeks. Just found one who can do it next week for £900+VAT!!!

It's interesting to hear about other people's expectations.

It would never occur to me that somebody expecting (or hoping for) a reply to their letter should need to send a stamped addressed envelope.

In the same way, I would never think of including a stamped addressed envelope with a letter I send... because I wanted a reply to the letter.

I paid £300 inc vat for a RICS Building Survey, report was emailed a few hours after they visited as well, the homebuyers report was quoted at £350 iirc not sure why it was more expensive as i understand its less detailed

I can’t think of any other companies which write to me that don’t include a prepaid envelope to be honest.

Don’t get me wrong I didn't cry myself to sleep over the price of the stamp (I did really :rotfl:) but I must admit I noticed the lack of envelope very quickly and a few thoughts crossed my mind :A

I don't get how there can be such a huge difference in price. £300 up to £900?

I paid £570 for the bank to provide the homebuyers report as an upgrade to their valuation and I did receive a stamped addressed envelope but was surprised to get this as I thought it was rare now!
