Guys you should be thankful for getting a home buyers survey for that price. I paid close to 800 pounds couple of weeks ago for one of them (through my mortgage lender Halifax). I thought it was a rip off but you can't argue with the bank.

Anyway I emailed them the signed scanned copy. Surely you could have done the same?

I have been shopping around. Unfortunately the only ones able to do it within the next couple of weeks are quoting £900. Everyone else says at least 4 weeks.

Didn't seem to be an option offered.

What if you read the T&Cs and decided not to sign and proceed, the company could waste a lot of money on stamps this way.

£350 seems good value, we all want workers to earn a decent income and have decent terms and paternity rights don't we? Tight consumers = poor deal for workers. No labour supporter would ascribe to this...........would they....?

    ?

Not if they use business reply and pay by each reply that sent back rather than putting a stamp on it. Thats what my solicitors used for their t&c's anyway.

I paid £300 for homebuyers report in January. A RICS one that a friend recommended.
Enabled me to renegotiate a significant drop in price paid.

I think a lot of it depends on the area and the price of the house. Ours ranged in price quite drastically depending on how much the place they were surveying was worth.

I'm used to Business Reply too, but I suppose most surveyors could well be smallish businesses and presumably there are overheads involved in setting it up to begin with.
