    It probably means that something - possibly the gas supply pipe - is not earthed. Ten minute job.

    Post a picture of your gas meter.

    i was getting this checked before I exchanged, for my own benefit, so I knew it was safe. I realise it's not compulsory but I wanted to know.

    in that case do not worry , however the mortgage Co "may" ask for it before issuing a mortgage , or reduce the amount until a certificate is produced

    No mortgage involved.

    I'm completing next Wednesday, and will get it fixed when I have a full service, after I've moved in.
