I would sue no doubt about it if I hadn't been informed.
Obviously your mum wants to stay, I would put my efforts into getting the neighours removed from the street. Even if they own their home they can still be evicited if they are noisy and troublesome. Get in touch with the council and see what you need to do to take steps to make them stop and if not they will eventually be evicted. Use your mobile phone to record the noise and video what you can. Why should you have to move !!!0 -

Is slamming doors anti social behaviour?
I think some people have unrealistic expectations as to how silent they think people should be sometimes. Bar blasting music there's not much that gets on my nerves.0 -

What exactly would you sue the vendors for? The standard question when purchasing a property is along the lines of 'Are there any disputes with neighbours?' The answer in the op's case would be 'no'.
You can't sue a vendor if the neighbours turn out to be noisy but there's never been a dispute about it.
And, where do you get the idea that a owner will get evicted from their own house for being noisy? A tenant, possibly, but not an owner.0 -

Well it's to each their own. If someone slams doors open and close full pelt in the bedroom next door to you at midnight and then 4am and periodically after that, then it can really wind you up especially if it's every single day and you end up not getting any sleep.
But like I said to each their own and all that.0 -

We are blessed to have lovely quiet neighbours, but if that wasn't the case, it depends who was viewing the property as to how much I would reveal. If it was a buy to let investor then I wouldn't say anything. If it was a nice family who would be really affected, then I would be more honest.
Different people have different levels of tolerance. Some will come from somewhere with lots of noise and it may not bother them at all. Others will be used to a very quiet environment and it would be a nightmare for them.
You have to fill in a form, not give different stories to different buyers.
What annoys different people is valid. A neighbour slamming doors early in the morning might not bother a seller who also gets up early or who takes their hearing aid out at night, etc, while it might drive the new owner crazy - or vice versa.0
