I have made loads of changes to our life and shopping via OS but recently i have had to revert some things as i was not happy !

    • Fabric softner - tried vinegar and did not like it so switched to the basic brand softner which i have used for 12 months. I don't like it though so i will be going back to "proper" softner - will try shops own brand first and hope that satisfies me !
    • Air Freshner - in my bid to cut back on spending i stopped buying Airwick Crystal airs which i usually have in my toilet and bathroom. I like them though so will be buying them again;)

    • Cleaning products - i don't like stardrops:pI don't like vienegar and baking powder is for cakes:T SORRY - i know everyone here loves the stuff and i have for the past 12 months used them all BUT Flash was on offer a few weeks ago and i got some and i am so happy cleaning again:oI like my cleaning things to smell nice.

    • Handwash - i have been decanting very cheap shampoo or bubble bath into my handwash dispensers but it's not thick enough or smelly enough so i am buying them again - still the cheaper versions but nevertheless bought ones.
    • Homemade Pizza - lovely stuff and kids love it BUT taking a 99p Iceland one out of the box and shoving in oven is *my* idea of a treat so once a fortnght this will be done.

I figure that as i am saving a lot from other MS tips and changes it is not soooo bad to stand up and admit that certain things i do not like the MS version of. So these are my confessions:A
It's not paranoia if they really are after you.

Morrisons value kidney beans. Far too dry and taste like cardboard. Bleurgh! :p Quite happy with their 'normal' own brand for 10p extra! :D

(However, their value low fat yoghurts are delish and would not swap them for the world. 70p for 4 as apposed to mortgageing the house for mullerlights! :D Think they have a lot of sugar in them to make them tasty, even if they are low fat!:rotfl:)

Don't worry about it, being MS isn't about doing every single thing. It's about doing the things you can/want/enjoy. If you don't like, are not comfortable doing it, or it makes you unhappy then stop doing it.

The main thing is to be happy and get pleasure from the things you do do.

I tried making my own soap powder, but even though I dried the soap, grated it then put it in the blender until it was the finest powder you have ever seen, it still didn't dissolve properly and left white streaks on my clothes.

So I added water to it and turned it into hand wash, that worked and made me happy.
  • watering down the milk. realised I was just using twice as much to compensate!

there's a few value things I've tried and not enjoyed.....everything else has been good though i think :)

I tried Stardrops in the washer - just a teeny drop. It did the job well enough but was too harsh on DD's skin (she is 2) so have swapped back to plain ole washing powder (not that we go through tons anyway - buy the huge boxes and seems to last months on end!)

Smart Price coffee - I can't even begin to describe how foul it was. I bought it with the view it might be a decent find if we just gave it a try, but if not I would just drink it until it ran out then get the usual brand again. One sip and I actually struggled to get that down...

I started buying dried beans to cook in the pressure cooker and freeze, but found they were a bit mushy, so back to canned beans

Tried cheaper washing up liquid and used twice as much so back to Fairy liquid.

Not everyone-I've never tried it, never even seen it. I use a damp cloth for most cleaning, jif for the bath and sinks and an antibacterial spray for the loo and that's it.
    I tried both a bread-maker and a slow-cooker and hated them both;)

I went from stores own brand flour to the value range but I've just changed back. It was ok in cakes but I could taste it in sauces, it felt 'rougher' too.
