Hello!!
I tried the universal samsung temp unlock code while I was waiting for my new sim card to register and now I think I've killed my phone.
I have no network and no sim will work in the phone.
The IMEI is all zero so I think the code I put in has somehow changed the IMEI to zero - is that correct? The code did a EEProm reset - but my personal details - pictures - numbers etc are still there.
But I did wonder if it was perhaps not this at all...... I put the code in and it did the eeprom reset and the other sim didn't work. So I put my new sim in and I was connected to O2 - I loaded the WAP settings sent to me by text and then the network and my settings dissapeared.
So I'm not sure if the code has messed it up or the wap settings - but I can't see how the wap settings can have such a devistating effect on the handset.
I feel a right prat now and will never mess with my phone again - if I can ever get it to work!!! I could send it back and act dumb as it was a clearance phone (perhaps it was knackered before it came to me?)
Thanks!!!!!!!!

15 zero's is a barred imei, so the phone is barred.
there was a similar thread on esato about this, i will try and find it for you.0 -
ive seen this before - the unlock code changes the imei to zeros and so no network as that imei is blocked. the only way to fix it is to have the imei reset to the original one, which is probably illegal as it would need imei changing equipment, even though you need for legitimate use. there is equipment available to do it though like nspro :think:0

seems that the thread on esato has been locked and deleted.
the person that had the problem took it to CPW (i think) and they sent it to samsung under warranty. i dont know the outcome though0 -
Thanks for trying to help.
It's really a very annoying thing to happen - I hope other people don't make the same mistake.
I might just try sending it back and plead dumb - I went to CPW today and they said it was faulty and to contact E2Save to get a replacement - they couldn't replace as it was a clearance phone.
Perhaps I should have told them it wasn't a clearance phone and I would have got a replacement there and then! Might go to another CPW shop and see if they will replace it. It says on the E2Save helpline to return handsets to CPW shop for a replacement....
Thanks again!!
