Twitter Stalker

I got a tweet from somebody today accusing me of taking competitions from there twitter feed and posting them in the MSE Forum. Never even knew the person exsiting until getting the tweet. I am now blocked!

I would like to clarify that it is simple to find new rafflecopter comps by typing "Rafflecopter giveaway UK" or something of the sort and then filter it to posts from the last 24 hours to find new comps I do not take the competiitions from anyone or other forums and think some people should stop being paranoid.

I think maybe a few noses are out of joint because they may be winnig less rafflecopter giveaways as I have posting upquite a few in the last 3 months. They may have remained low entry until being shared in the forum.

Comping is a hobby there is plenty for us all to win. If we share and increase each others chances.

Why do some compers give the rest of us a bad name - grr

HAHA. Wow. I used to post a few RCs, and I agree that they are very easy to find via google. If said paranoid person were that concerned they should have just blocked you straight away, no need to keep tabs on you and to tweet you about it. Unfortunately there are the odd few like that, but then there are a lot more that are grateful for the posts you make. Don't be too put out about it. Sharing is caring! ;):A

Selfish people that obviously come on here and "steal" everyone else's Comps but aren't willing to reciprocate

LINZ1979, they are just a keyboard warrior, sad, bitter and twisted. Just block & ignore them... :)

  • It's not possible to completely block someone on Twitter like you can on Facebook as I am sure Linz is aware.

If you logout of twitter or open a separate page you can see anyones' feed as long as it's 'public'

This is something Twitter needs to rectify.

You were DM'd privately you say, so why bring it over here?

I must admit I have noticed myself that your postings tend to match the comps listed the same day in one or two other 'hubs' so maybe the tweeter concerned has a point and I really feel you should respect their wishes. This is also the position MSE takes as a policy.

Either way this is a private matter.

Just ignore Linz, I can see why you're irritated but that's why they've done it so just don't let it get to you. Thanks for the comps!

And as for matching others (nice dig there) I'm not surprised - that's how I search for RC comps and it is bound to duplicate other sites as it is so easy to do. Not a sign of copying at all.

    too many comps..not enough time!

It's not a private matter. The comps are in the public domain. Only the people who own the competition can complain about where it is posted, not those who are entering it or who are listing it on different 'hubs'!

LINZ1979 I think you have every right to post about this here. To get it off your chest and to give us a chance to support you.

It's never pleasant when someone moans at you. But I've always believed that posting comps from one site to another is a perfectly reasonable and fine thing to do - unless the person hosting the comp doesn't want that to happen, that is. I would hesitate to copy another person's actual wording, other than where I directly quote and attribute it to someone. But I'd happily share the information contained. That's what the Internet is about - DUH!

As others have said, this is really that person's issue, not yours. So try to let it go as much as you can.

Thanks for the kind words and also the advise with regards to how it all works I will just igniore, move on and contine doing what I do but I apprecate the support from my fellow compers.

It did motivate me to think outside the box and find other ways to find comps so I did a seach for "Win ticket in UK" and found about 30 comps for days out, concerts and festivals that were not listed that I posted up.

I work full time and Im a lone parent so only get a few hours to comp in the evenings so the amount I can contribute is small but I would like to continue finding comps for 30 minutes or more each night when I can to give back to the MSE community.

Linz although I'm a bit of a newbie here I have noticed your contribution to the 'group' and appreciate it! You have done nothing wrong and definitely have every right to post your concerns here.
