Windows 8 Update Problem

I have deleted those folders and now it says there are no new updates.
This is all very confusing.0 -
This hasn't fixed anything. Having deleted the folder I am informed of a new update (i set the updater to tell me if there ar new updates and that I will choosen when ot install them) which, once again, doesn't update. It starts downloading (sometimes it doesn't even do that) and then i get an error message telling me the process has failed with a code. The windows help centre tells me nothing about the meaning of that code and MS support are worse than useless. What am I meant to do if I can't update the bloody OS?0

This time it was 80070bc9, different frome the one i had in the first place. Windows error system give sno information on what it means nor how to fix it, so basically the 1indows 8.1 update system, for me, is completely broken.0

The second link suggests repairing windows which I cannot do because i don't have an install disc.

If it's Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.1 Professional (but not "Windows 8.1 With Bing", unless they've changed it since last time I looked) then you can download an install ISO from Microsoft using this tool.
