I renewed my talktalk sim only plan recently, which was highly stressful and difficult to complete.
Recently, I have taken on my landlord and bank as I have not received communication from them. both organisations came to the same conclusion - TALKTALK
I telephoned talktalk mobile yesterday. I was informed by there customer service Department, when I renewed my talktalk sim plan, test messages from companies was turned off by there back off team. Seems this is quite normal for talktalk, any explanation given, nope!!!!
when reneweling with talktalk, remember to explicit say to the advisor "do not make any chages to any of the services i have with talktalk mobile" this company really does some strange things sometimes

I don't understand what you mean by 'renewal'. SIM only contracts don't expire. If you do nothing at the end of your minimum term, the contract continues until you give and serve 30 days notice. So what have you 'renewed'?
Sounds like you have taken out a new contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
