After trying to cut back on shopping and waste, I now shop in Aldi and buy everything fresh, except for Fish fingers! My cost every week for 7..which is 2 adults 5 children, I am spending every week between £80-90 which I don't think is too bad, they all have pack up every day..if anyone is less with same amount or more people then please let me know your secret ;)
    I love a Bargain

I would be hard pressed to get my food bill any less than £250 a month just for me. Although that includes cat food to and some toothpaste etc.

For 2 people i think 50 a week is pushing it.

 Wowzas! I think I'd struggle to find £250 worth of stuff just for me that I could eat my way through in a month! My food budget (also just for me), is £60 a month.
Because it's fun to have money!

Our two people weekly shop is on average £40, with a £10 top up during the week, and we always feel to have plenty of food. Stocking up on meat / freezable produce when it's reduced helps. Also, not getting into a routine - if you stock up one week, you probably don't need a full shop the next.

I only cook from scratch and my weekly bill is £90 - £100 on 2 adults including booze and cleaning stuff.

We are around £75 per week for two adults and a dog (including cleaning products/loo roll and other general non food bits).

I know we could get it down if we really wanted to, but with working full time and doing a degree I have little enough free time as it is - for now I'm happy to accept a higher cost for the convenience of weekly Tesco ordering and delivery to the door.

I dont think its worth just quoting numbers - as the spend is quickly skewed by a few high priced purchases

For example if there are a couple of you , drinking a few bottles of wine a week or a pint of beer every day - then you are quite easily spending £20 or £30 a week more than someone who doesnt.
or if you are buying branded fizzy drink then thats another tenner or more a week

    I tend to agree.

It would be interesting to know where people are shopping, and what kind of shop they are aiming for - is it veggie or meat-based, alcohol or not, convenience or scratch-cooking?

TBH, £70 at Aldi is a huge trolley-full - probably enough for a family of 4-5 for a week.

Including a pack of three paint brushes and some masking tape..

That's the only problem on just looking at your bank statements: Aldi/Lidl could have an element of your maintenance, clothing or leisure budget..

As equally could your purchases from Tesco , Sainsburys, Asda etc. why single out just Lidl & Aldi for selling "paint brushes and masking tape "
