One adult and one teenager, and this includes food, cleaning stuff, toiletries etc. I'm new to moneysaving and this is my average since January. I've not made a particular effort to cut back but I like to feel that I am naturally frugal. Obviously I know I should mealplan [STRIKE]but I can't really be bothered.[/STRIKE]
Very, very poor.

If you look back you'll see that same question has been asked lots and lots of times. Some will tell you it's more than easy and many others will tell you they'd never managre.
You mention planning ahead, well that's the first place to start and while you're looking through previous threads you'll dind lots of tips about that.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

If you can afford it it's fine. We live well on around £25 per week (2 adults and a toddler) but I have time to shop around, bulk cook and make the most of the supermarket mark downs at the end of the day. On the other hand my Sister is happy to spend £70 for two people per week as she has no time to shop around and wants in and out quick no fuss. It's all individual.0

Yes.
Whilst many people spend more, I think £20-25 per person per week is about right. Obviously, that's Aldi/Lidl/market prices. If you shop elsewhere, you may need to allow a bit more.0 -

Wow, £25 a week is impressive, well done.
I have joined the Grocery Challenge, my budget this month is £200. Jan, Feb and March have been £290, £150 and £280, which is slightly over £200 pcm so we'll see if I can improve. I think I can actually as that is stuff I buy without thinking about it, and last month that also included a few Easter Eggs:) so if I can track it as I go along I should be able to improve.
Actually I've just done that again and it's £240 pcm. Hmm.Very, very poor.0 -
That's what I spend & we don't go without, I always shop around for the best deals though. Although I'm sure we could get by on £35-£40 some weeks.0

I also spend around £50 but usually shop around for the best deals. Some weeks its more like £60.0

As a Student I'm £25ish roughly a week for myself (but that is cooking from fresh most nights) and still feel like I could/should cut back!PK! :money:0

Like everyone else says it's reasonable but if you need to save money you clouls definitely get that down by shopping around, avoiding treats, reducing booze and meat, etc it just depends if you want/need to.0

Do you throw food away? either too much on your plate or out of the fridge
Do you pay over the odds for your food? eg corner shop
Do you want/need to reduce the amount? Why pay full price when you may get it YS0
