which leads me to think the car was hired out to a driving instructor.

You've made a judgment based on an internet search, but did you actually ask the dealer about the previous owner?
We feel the vehicle was been misold as the former keeps shows 1 however the vehicle was used as a driving instructors vehicle/leased out.

Unless you asked the dealer about the previous owner and they lied (ie said it was one "careful, lady owner" when they knew it was, as you surmise, a driving instructor) then they have not mis-sold. They said the car had one previous owner, and that appears to be true. A failure on your part (perhaps) to question the prior ownership does not constitute mis-selling.

I'd rather buy a driving instructor car than one owned by an 18 year old boy racer.

When buying a used car, how would you know ? Experienced drivers can also have really bad driving habits you know.

When you buy a used car from anyone you have no idea of how it's been driven in it's past life. Unless the car itself was misadvertised then I'm afraid your wife has no rights with reference to this and she should stop worrying about what might be and just get on and enjoy the car she bought.

I can assume when it comes to selling it on your wife won't be advertising it as an ex-driving instructors car either.

I personally wouldn't like to buy an ex driving school car but in this instance I doubt you can do anything about it.

I'd suggest that you try to forget it's past life and enjoy your purchase.

Might also be a good idea to ignore the way a few others have replied, they like to see people unhappy.

It doesnt sound like there is any evidence it was a driving school car anyway, although I agree, so what...

30k miles for almost two years doesn't sound anywhere near enough for a driving instructors car to me. We do around 10k a year just for getting to and from work (less than 15 miles a day) plus social use, when we had to take the kids to and from school, and on occasional day trips too this used to be 15k a year.

When we bought our most recent car we asked about previous owner, we were told it was from a one child family upgrading to a bigger car due to a second child. We believed them because most of the car was immaculate but there was quite a bit of ware on the rear of the passenger seat where the child's feet had rubbed on the seat in front over time.

The time to ask is before buying and nothing has been mis-sold here.

I don't think there is a requirement to volunteer the information. I fyour wife had asked and they had lied that would be different.

It is correct that it has had one previous keeper.

Family cars can be registered to one person but driven by husband, wife and any children old enough to drive- possibly used to teach them to drive.

One previous owner does not mean one previous driver.

If it has been a lease vehicle, then it would have been serviced properly by the manufacturers dealerships, to their standards.

There is nowt wrong with co car drivers lease cars. They are mostly used for motorway driving, which is less strain on the car and are looked after well, genuine parts etc.

In my experience, an ex company car, is the best type to buy, rather than an old dears, who has ridden the clutch from day 1 !
