Suffering back problems with my 4 month old DFS sofa

Hi,
I dont know if I have posted in the right topic but I wasnt sure which topic this query applies to.
I purchased a sofa from DFS in January and initially it was fine but now I have developed a lower back probem. I have contacted DFS and they have said that not their problem and it cant be returned.
I was wondering is it possible for me to do anything?
Thanks

I am doing back exercises, and I do know how to sit properly.
I dont think the sofa is fit for purpose, and I thought I may be able to get some advice about returning as I may have a genuine reason for return.
I have never had a back problem this bad before and it is always aches when I get up from this sofa.
Its the langley sofa from DFS

It could be umpteen things that cause you back pain. A bad mattress, poor sitting position at work, poor sitting position while driving, recurring sports injury etc. You need to prove that it's the sofa thats causing the back problem.

    Don't hold your breath.

Did you buy the sofa on the stated basis that it needed to work with your back in a certain way? If so you may be able to return it.

Unless you can provide expert medical evidence that your back pain is due solely to the new sofa, then your claim has no hope of success.

Have you tried altering your seating position with a pillow or cushion?

Not fit for purpose ??? you're having a laugh !
It has cushions ? You can sit on it ? there by it is fit for purpose.

If it wasn't fit for purpose then the cushions may have split or the material may have worn etc, the fact it's giving you back ache is of no concern to the retailer and is certainly no cause for rejection on not fit for purpose grounds.

If I were you I'd flog it and buy something else.

There's never any shortage of people on here intent on trying it on.
Not fit for purpose. You're having a laugh.
Just because it did not have a sticker guaranteeing that it would not give you backache. Does not make it unfit for purpose.

The first 30 years with a bad back are the worst, after that you get used to it.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
