Finish powder and supermarket own brand rinse aid, usually less than stated amount. No salt as water quite soft

I use Aldi, Fairy or Finish.
Please avoid Asda's and Wilko's own, they are awful.

Another vote for Fairy Platinum here. We've tried all sorts of other types but the Fairy ones do make a noticeable difference vs the others.

Tablets aren't ideal. The manufacturers have to guess about when the different elements should release. Much better to make your machine do it in line with your program.

I've moved to using finish liquid, and the cheapest salt / rinse aid from telcos. I get better results now than using tablets and it's much much cheaper.

When I did use tabs fairy where indeed miles out in front. But I wouldn't bother now. Hardly more convenient. I also often found the tablet got stuck somewhere and didn't dissolve.
  • Thank you everybody :) that is really helpful. I think I'll try a few different ones and find which work for my machine the best. I'll definitely be using salt and rinse aid too. Thanks for the advice! x

Once you're happy with the cleaning, try without rinse aid for a while. If you get drip marks on your glass go back to using it, if you don't, save your money. I gave up rinse aid several years ago & haven't noticed any difference. Stick with salt though, the effects of not using salt are not immediately obvious like with rinse aid.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Which ? did a trial in which fairy platinum was judged best, but Aldi' s premium brand was a close second.
