Best Dishwasher Tablets

Hi everyone!

I just wondered if anyone has any recommendations for dishwasher tablets? Which?'s website isn't working to allow me to sign up for the free trial so I can't look there but a personal recommendation is always extra valuable!

Thank you in advance!

    Hi windsorgal:hello:

    Welcome to the MSE Forum.

It depends what you mean by 'Best' dishwasher tablets.

I use Fairy Platinum all in one tablets.

They are not best on price. There are cheaper options.;)

However, I buy them because they give outstanding cleaning results so I feel that they are worth the extra cost. I used to have clean but dull looking glasses and cutlery. After one use of Fairy Platinum, all items were transformed into gleaming, shiny (looking like brand new) and pristine clean. They stay that way because I won't be going back to cheaper dishwasher tablet options.

    Regards

i have tried a few. Now mostly stick with Sainsburys own brand all in ones or Almat from aldi. Half the cost of fairy but same results at least in our household! If you live in hard water area dont foget to add salt and rinse aid despite getting all in one tablets.

Aldi ones have a Which best buy and Good Housekeeping Institute.

We use salt and rinse aid, still, with them. Perfectly happy.

I did buy some fairy platinum on offer recently and i noticed no difference other than they smelt particularly nice :o

I tried the Aldi ones and they just left orange/red gunk all over the inside of my dishwasher. I was having to give it a wipe out after every wash, so I gave up and went back to Tesco own brand, or Finish when they're half-price.

everything you ever wanted to know about dishwasher tablets (well everything by Dave Gorman anyway).

I also use finish, when they are half price in tescos (which they always are when i need them).

You don't necessarily need to buy salt and rinse aid - some tablets have these in them so there's no point buying more!

We do have a Finish dishwasher diamond thing which does seem to slow down the rate at which glasses go cloudy thanks to dishwashing:

It needs replacing every couple of months. We were previously having to replace all our glasses about once a year.

We use Finish Quantum which I only buy on offer. They are still around 15p/tablet though so cheaper options are certainly available. We don't buy salt or rinse aid.

I'm another fan of fairy platinum or finish quantum - I only buy the big bags on better than half price and they'll last three months.

tend to stick now with tesco/aldi own brand or sometimes finish on offer

find the fairy ones left a taste on our plates so wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

don't tend to use any salt or rinse aid - softwater area
