Excel parking fine-should i pay?

@Quentin ... post 7 already addresses this. Psychology - having the right mindset makes things like this easier to deal with. And I was NOT having a dig at the OP - it was advice given in good faith for good reasons. I resent your inference.
.
But #7 is from you and wrong as well!
As you should well know if you read the threads in the fines and parking thread, many do end up in court over not paying their parking fines/charges.
And face the prospect of bailiffs/judges/debt collectors etc which you seem to think only applies if you have a bit of paper through the post saying "fine"!
Sorry you resent it, though it does appear one of your hobby horses - seeing as you mention it in every post you make on MSE, and we are asked to be nice to newbies.
(Pulling them up on a pedantic issue that's really just a pet hate/hobby horse is as bad as those who pull people up for typos and spelling errors like bought/brought their/there etc}0 -
Hey Folks
kickingk50 has asked in thread #1 for assistance. So we are now at number 13 arguing semantics and he does not seem to have been given any advice. This arguing amongst you Dedicated Diehard MoneySaving Devotees does not help anyone because it takes all that additional reading time to get to the nub of any advice. And there is an awful lot of it.
She/he may be off to another board!
This forum is difficult enough to navigate. This is shown by the vast number of Newbies hijackacking other threads because in their haste, their fear, desperation et al they act like the rabbit in a headlight and don't read or take time to work it out. The number of large red and blue lettered warnings to Newbies on sticky threads is also very much testament to this. As is the constant asking of similar questions to the 'experts', this is the same as a child who will ask for the answer to their homework problem rather than look it up.
I know all about this, as a Newbie myself it took a while to follow the way this community works and how to crack it all. I am still not there and I have a long way to go.
Perhaps a reorganisation of how the Sticky threads are laid out and some form of lock put on them to stop Newbie OPs hijacking them would help. All the information is there but they are not very logically laid out. And many ignore the advice because when they see how much is required to read they balk!
So, chill and try not to get into a self consuming downward spiral to prove just how much more you know than the next Parking Aficionado.
Sorry to have posted this on this thread and I suppose that you will say that I am no better?
But it really doesn't help.

Per post #5 ... OP has already cross-posted in the Parking board and is getting help there (I hope). THIS thread seems to be about point scoring.0

What a surprise ... I reply to a post with a factual answer and the likely lads jump in with digs.
Kinda proves post #14 correct, eh?0
