washing machine and soda crystals

hello i wonder if someone could give me some advice
my washing machine seems to be having trouble rinsing all the powder out of clothes
i have done quite a bit of googling and found that washing soda would clean out the pipes if there was some buildup causing the problem
the closest i could find to buy was dp soda crystals, i now have them but i'm not sure how to use them,
-should i put them in the dispenser drawer or in the drum (the drawer seems to make more sense to me but i can't find instructions)
-should i dissolve them in hot water first or just pour the sada crystals straight into the machine
-also, frustratingly now when i google search again for tips people say to run a hot wash with soda crystals/washing soda AND THEN run a hot wash with white vinegar, which i did not buy. is this necessary or will the soda crystals themselves do the trick of cleaning out the pipes of detergent/grime buildup
thank you if you can advise

Soda crystals straight into the drum and the hottest wash should clear the pipes. It may be worth cleaning your filter too.
I run a wash with a small amount of bleach every 4-6 weeks.0 -
thanks adandem
i forgot to ask in my earlier post, how much should i use? i have seen anything from a whole pack which i think is 1kg to much smaller amounts suggested in my searches0 -
1/2 cup soda crystals, 1/2 normal amount of washing powder or liquid , normal wash and no conditioner then 1/2 cup white vinegar in next to last rinse .
Money saving , clothes just as clean and soft with no smell and a clean non smelly machine and pipes .
Simplessssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
I had this problem years ago.
Washing powder is no good for low temp washing. You need to change to a wash liquid or gel.
Every few months set the empty washing machine to highest temp and let it go round with about half a mug of soda crystals in drum and a little white viniger in the drawer. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

Hi I won't use liquid or gel anymore as that was the cause of the mould in my machine, I googled it, I do use the soda crystals in a hot empty wash now and again and I have not had a problem since, but each has there own solution

Mould in the machine is due to not leaving the door and drawer open to air after washing. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0

I always have left the door open but not the drawer, I do take the drawer out and scrub it.:)iThe person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0

I do a 90 wash with soda crystals from time to time, I put some in the drum and in the powder drawer and I make a 1kg bag do 3 of these washes.0
