Most regular posters on here are helpful and knowledgeable, but they're also human and sometimes make mistakes, or their information is out of date :o

Slightly OT, but does anyone know if a payment made into an existing ISA today would go through as this tax year, or whether it would be delayed until tuesday and count as next tax year?

Depends entirely on your provider. Some have stopped taking 2014-15 deposits on Thursday, some will take deposits until midnight tonight. You need to check with your provider.

It's a Virgin Money easy access cash eISA. I can't find any info regarding the deposit deadline.

    e: found it:

Deposits into your accounts must be with us:

    Online by
    10pm Sunday 5 April 2015

But that doesn't really answer my question. With it being a sunday, sandwiched between 2 bank holidays, would a transfer from a non-Virgin account count as being deposited today or would it only go through on Tuesday?

I would have thought they count it for today if they give you a deadline of 10pm tonight. Have you tried calling them?

If you're sending by faster payments and your bank is one that supports it then it should arrive.

If your bank is Cahoot then you've missed out as the FP cutoff for the day has gone.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
