Making a baking recipe book for sister

Hi all, I've decided for xmas I am going to make my brother a recipe book of all his fave meals I cook for him (also very DFW!) and buy a load of spices and herbs to go with it.
I've put in things like stew, chilli con carne, spag bol and pasties, but I'm running out of ideas.
Does anyone have any faves that I can add? They would have to be quite cheap and filling too, as he's a student.
Thankies in advanceDebt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Hi hun, what about any 'pie' with a potato topping eg, fish, shepherds pie, myfriends cowboy pie (sausages, beans, cheese, mash) A filling meal but all in one dish.
Soups like broth are both nutritious and filling.
Will try and think of some more, but i think its a wonderful idea, if only my brother would enjoy something like that!

I've already got cottage pie down, and he's not too keen on fish. But the cowboy pie sounds scrummy! How is it made? Just all chopped, mixed and baked in oven? Or layered with mash & cheese on top?Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Yonks ago there was a great book published called "Grub on a grant". See if you can find a copy in your local library, it may give you some ideas (there was also a veggie grub on a grant I think as well).Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0
