If your nokia is a dect3 use the uniquephones link as that was the only one that I could get to work. I tried it three times with unlockme and although the phone was telling me it was unlocked, it wasn't.

I then went to uniquephones and the first code they gave me worked just fine!

IS IT NOT TRUE THAT O2 PHONES ARE ALREADY UNLOCKED TO ANY NETWORK OR IS IT MONTHLY CONTRACT RATHER THAN PAYG

Most contract phones will be unlocked - as you are tied into a contract to use their service, they don't care which phone you use. The exception to this seems to be T-Mobile, who have started to lock their contract phones.

Pay-as-you-go phones are different, the network supplier usually subsidises the cost of the phone, therefore, they don't want you putting another providers sim in the phone they have subsidised, and so these are always locked... it's these PAYG phones that need unlocked if you use any other suppliers sim..

    Hope that helps

most phones bought direct from the networks (whichever it is) are locked to that network, however if you have bought your phone from a third party, i.e p4u or carphone warehouse, these phones are generally unlocked for use on any network. A sure way to tell, if when you buy the phone the networks logo is on the box, it's locked. if its not its generally not. hope this helps
