I just re-signed up with Experian to check my credit file - I cancelled it in January. I have had loads of problems with my credit file.
1) I cannot find my bank accounts on the Experian file. I had an overdraft of £800 in January which I have since paid off but paying it off ahs not improved my file as my two current accounts (and revolving loan) are not on there. Why not?
2) I recently had a problem where a settled debt (a co-op loan) came back to life on my file. About a year ago it said I was missing payments (even though it was settled) - I had 6 months of missed payments. I queried this and eventually I was told the problem had been sorted. However, the account still seems to be open and it is reporting that I am making payments on it without fail every month, but the 6 months worth of missed payments from a year ago are all there - on an account that was settled years ago. I have been told that these incorrect missed payments will stay on the file but I should be happy as it is no longer saying I am missing payments...but it should be closed.

1. When you say you cannot find your bank account on Experian, was the overdraft with £800 showing on there before but has disappeared entirely?
Or if it is still showing and just hasn't updated, sometimes it takes up to 3 months for any changes to be updated.
As for your 2 current accounts and loans not showing on there, you would need to write to the companies in question and ask them to report your data to Experian.
2. You will need to write to Co-op with your complaint and ask them to close your account and to update all 3 credit reference agencies, also get them to confirm it in writing when it has been done.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Your bank probably reports to one of the other agencies.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Candyapple - thanks. Yes my account with the £800 overdrawn was on there before! It was contributing to my score not being as high as it could be, hence I paid it off. Now, neither of my currant accounts are listed on Experian.
And thanks, I will write to co-op. Wasn't sure if the responsibility was theirs or Experian.0 -

It's great to have you back with us, I understand your concerned that your account information is missing from your Experian credit report, I really want to help resolve this for you.
One of the reasons why the information could be missing from your report, could be due to the address details thats been added to your membership profile, if you've recently moved/changed address and if this hasn't been added to your CreditExpert profile this could cause account information not to be recorded, if your lenders are reporting information in relation to your new address.
forgotmyname is correct, your lender may not be sharing their data with Experian, to help me establish the reason(s) why your accounts are missing from your new credit report, please could you email me with your details (name/dob/address) I'll be happy to look into the matter further for you.
