Very safe to recieve payment by bank transfer.

All they should need is your account no. and sort code - perhaps your name to be thorough.

You can check via phone banking or at any cash point. Obviously you should not take the buyers word for it.

It will take at least 3 working days to arrive into your account. It has to float around cyberspace first!

Once it's there it can't be taken out again. Perfectly safe.
Congratulations on finding someone who wants to pay using Bank transfer. I wish I could find them!

If he banks at same bank as you it will be virtually immediate but leave it until next banking day to post.

Yes, it's perfectly safe for you to recieve via bank tranfer. If they don't bank as they same as you, and they would like item sooner, suggest paying in cash at your bank.

A buyer of one of my items paid by bank transfer today - they offered to do it - I almost fainted with suprise! I've offered it as a way of payment for years but this is the first time someone has done it.

  • i've had 3 bank transfers (2 were actually branch deposits) from around 700 sales on eBay, the last one a month back was only as I was offering a £2.50 discount for bank deposits/transfers
