    First I thought how sad that no-one has bothered to post on this discussion. Then I thought.... what's to discuss? Martin and the whole team deserve a great big :beer: for everything they have done for us, and will hopefully continue to do for as long as the Internet is available.

    It made my day catching a brief "appearance" by the great man today, on the Radio 5 Live house prices discussion. I was driving back from Sainsburys at the time, where I had obtained £18 worth of shopping for £12, by various (legal!) means.

    I hope you all enjoyed your dinner, and had doggy bags to take home the surplus! ;) .
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • Believe me Bogof Babe, it was the type of posh restaurant where there wasn't surplus to be taken! If there was I'd definitely have asked :cool:
    Could you do with a Money Makeover?

    :naughty::naughty:
    Celebration or no celebration, this posh restaurant doesn't sound in the spirit of MSE.:D

    That aside, well done to everyone:beer:, hope you had a good night and keep up the good work.

    Where the hell was my invite? :confused:

    DFW rocks! :T
  • here is a perfect opportunity to thank the MSE and all that has followed in his wake...

    I am obviously not the the only one to say so but, i resent the fact that i could be spat out by the education sausage machine with a batchelors degree and still yet know next to nothing about personal finance. The site and book ended needless trial and error, provided me with a real and practical education far more valuable that any institution could ever provide and have made little my financial acorns grow into whopping forests of dough, following MSE advice. The sites impartiality still amazes me in this cynical day and age. For THAT alone thanks is due.

    Lord knows we need a site like this in a horrendously expensive shoebox of a country! The thing i find most amusing is that Martin has genuinely done something great for this country and yet its always the tax-dodging mittal/stelios-types or money barons of this world that get the honours.

    Who needs a medal when you have the appreciation of a ever growing slice of this country on your side?
