i didn't know there was outstanding finance before accident ???
I've been told by friends i could still get my car cost if i can find the previous owner hu had finance on it and sold it to me without informing me which i have on log book records ??
Why would you want to cancel the claim?
Did you not say that the HPI check showed no finance?0 -
I done hpi check to day after accident happened long after ..as my solicitor told me to ,,which was on jan 29th I didn't do it when I got the car ....however some friends said when car was CAT B FINANCE IS CLEARED automatically im not sure if this is true, this could be why hpi showed clear today ...0

i wanted to cancel it so i could do claim with other party as i was told by people i should claim through third party if its not my fault , i didn't anyway im going to call them tomorrow0

Your insurance company would just seek costs from the third party anyway, this is often a quicker process as normally you receive a payout before your own insurance company is refunded.0 -
Perhaps your insurance company or the third party one paid off the finance on it and that's why it now shows clear.
I'm not sure if because it's now been written off as a cat B if that would have any effect on the finance side during the HPI check (i.e it might over ride the finance part)
Either way, best to speak to your solicitor or your insurance company. They will know more than us.All your base are belong to us.0 -
im saying i did the hpi today on 30th 03 15 , after the accident happened , the accident happened on January 29th, if i had done hpi back then hpi could have found something but after my accident when the car was registered cat b the finance could have been erased i was told this by friends today0

So the first question I think you want us to answer is:
If my car had outstanding Finance (and I didn't know because I didn't check when I bought it), would that Finance still show after the accident or does a Cat-B write-off automatically remove the HPI flag?

Did you agree a total loss value with your insurer?
Did your insurer pay the settlement to the finance?
Cat B flag will not clear the finance flag.0
