If you want a better asset mix, then maybe the L&G Multi Asset solutions are worth a look (as that has property which gives you an extra class).

What are the additional costs for this fund?

Well he has decided to go with the VLS 60 starting tomorrow. He says if he ever feels a bit nervous he will add the VLS 40 for the 50/50 mix, but understand`s there will be a few ups and downs and just let things roll for now.

Its only a tad more than VLS. Not worth worrying about.

OK thanks. Just that I could not find it on HL site and looked it up on L&G site but was confused as there were so many different classes to choose from. Also, the property element seems to be under 5%?

I will stick with the straight forward Vanguard LS funds I think!

There are two main share classes for this fund. I & F. I is 0.31% and bought via platforms. F is 0.50% but bought directly (so no platform fee).

The only difference is VLS has one share class and L&G have two.

I made my first purchase yesterday in my own ISA with charles stanley.
I went for the VLS 60 and bought with £1000 to ease myself in. I did this around 10.30 am, got a e-mail to say i will be sent another email when the purchase is executed, its still showing as order pending, how long does it take to execute?.

Also in my settings pages it says my fund basket has allocation of 5%, weight 5% and an split evenly option?.
I am just a bit confused regarding these at present.

It can take a few days, to be honest. I have some with HL and it can take up to a week. I placed on order on Tuesday this week with iWEB and it was fulfilled yesterday, so it seems a bit hit-and-miss.

Don't sweat it though....you'll be holding these for years (maybe a decade+) so a couple of days here and there won't make any real difference.

Yep 5 working days at Fidelity and that's from their "ISA cash park" (so no waiting for funds to clear). It feels very slow in this digital age doesn't it. :)

I think maybe they lump purchases together sometimes so occasionally you get lucky and it's a bit quicker.

Don't use a long word when a diminutive one will suffice.
