Should I let my friend pay for my theatre ticket?

As a person who works in a professional theatre (Yes £30 is quite ridiculous) just as a money saving option, the lass should have access to cast-rate tickets. She would need to ask the company manager for permission and access, but it happens a lot. Ask your mate to ask her.
However this may not go down the impressive route.
But, actresses are poor (believe me) and what's more important is having some nice people come and support you. Honestly, as an amateur actor/director as well, you can offer to give tickets away, but people rarely want to give up their free time (especially for student productions!) Simply the fact that your friend and you are there, will be worth so much more than the ticket price.

This isn't a moral dilemma. If he had asked you to pay you might have a dilemma as to whether to agree, but this is just down to your own choice. Do you want to pay? Fine, pay. If you don't, let him pay, as he has already offered.0

If he wants to pay what's the problem? Just go!0

I think you might have missed the sarcasm...

Those student productions are only just a bit better that the rubbish you have to suffer at school plays!
Pretend you have to visit a dying relative - this will take some acting on your behalf - but it will be better than the acting put on by a load of self-obsessed arty students!
For £30 you could have a nice basic meal and a beer!0
