I think it was in respect of an abusive phone call, so OFCOM would be more relevant than OFGEM.
That said, I've no idea whether OFCOM (or any other OFxxx) would be the correct party to whom such calls would be reported. Reporting to the police non-emergency number is probably correct.0 -
Indeed it was Ofcom, please forgive my error. Their guidance regards abusive and threatening calls is exactly what I have followed.
It does surprise me that certain individuals here feel it is acceptable to just "forget it". I also said I ran my information by the police as instructed to do so and made it quite clear that I didn't want to waste their time. It was THEY who actually encouraged me to press the matter as in modern society it is not acceptable in any form.
I appreciate this is an open forum and I feel a great method of getting tips and ideas from other like minded individuals for a variety of topics. I don't think scouring someone's history and then putting that together to discredit what I have said is appropriate. I have found this forum very helpful over the years but if it has now evolved into nothing more than another arm of "Facebook" then I'll leave well alone in future.0 -

I really don't feel comfortable quoting from Wikipedia, but since you've mentioned it, did you notice this in the article you linked to:
Interesting use of the word 'merely'.0 -

Wasting police time, wasting businesses time, wasting your own time, it's a pattern :T

Hopefully you're not also going to report anyone on here for the names we might be calling youI can't believe you wasted police time on something like this. Maybe best to leave future purchases to someone else?
Can't believe...can't believe...can't believe...
Don't you think the police are quite capable of making their own minds up?
Or is this just one of those cases where because it doesn't directly affect you, it shouldn't be considered a problem?0
