Good evening all!
Although not new to the website, it's my first post here.
Flying home to my native Latvia in 10 hours, and as I was going to check in online, to my horror realised that my passport had expired a month ago!! Trying to phone Ryanair and even Stansted, but to no avail. I'm flying with my 8 year old daughter, and she's got a valid Latvian passport. As I reside in U.K. but going to my native country what chances do I have to get boarded? The only other form of ID I have is UK driving license which is not really acceptable for flights. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Apologies for a rushed post
Kind regards,
Dai

Did you not get through on the telephone.
I really don't think you will be able to get out of the country. Especially with a child,
Every single passport is checked.
Keep trying to ring and find out for sure.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
All numbers seem to be automated services, so frustrating! I don't have much hope to be honest0

See if you can get an alternative number on Saynoto0870.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Ryanair call centres aren't open 24 hours a day.

I don't think you're going to get on a plane though.

Thanks for a reply! Forgot to mention I hold Latvian passport, hence the hope they would let me board as I'm going to a native county with its document albeit expired. Could get a travel document from Latvian embassy tomorrow, God knows how much Ryanair will charge to change the flight.0

Put it down to experience and check in future.0

Call the Latvian Embassy: there should be 24-hour consular service for Latvians...
I think that you do have a reasonable chance of getting on that flight, since you are travelling within the EU and have proof that you are an EU citizen.0 -
its not up to the latvian consulate if you fly it will be up to the airline.
ryanair states that you need a "valid passport" to travel:
http://www.ryanair.com/en/terms-and-conditions/regulations-traveldocumentation/
personally i reckon you wont be allowed to travel
however there are some issues with validity by definition your passport remains valid but out of date so its a matter of semantics reallyLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
