Yellow light on the dash car with spanner facing upwards. I know its a question how long is a peice of string but was hoping someone who has an astra might have had this issue and could throw a bit of info my way. As its Sunday cant get into garage and need the car for work tomorrow at a drive of 20 miles.

this is the light and bit of info in the manual,,,,, click pic to see full

So really hoping an astra driver has had this before, as before work at 5-30am so really need car as no other means of transport, also cant get the car checked out till tommorrow.

Cheers

  • There are literally hundreds of error codes that signify anything from a faulty exhaust to a serious fault in the engine. Anything anyone says will be just a guess.

Has it gone into limp mode i.e. it won't rev very high

As Nodding Donkey has said, this could be one of hundreds of things. You really need to get it stuck on a code reader to find out. Depending on the year of your car there is also a trick you can do with the pedals to get the dash to display the error code.

Is the light flashing? is it on all the time? I know my vauxhall if I stall it an error can be thrown, which will clear itself after 3 journeys, so if it is something simple it might clear and not show. It will still be stored though so you can still get it read and find out what it is/was

Think it just means your car's due for a service?

Thought the MIL "check engine" light was orange/red with a pic of a little engine ...

I would have thought that but the car was serviced a few months ago

Press and hold the odometer reset button and turn the ignition on to dash lights, wait 30 seconds, reset (turn to off +then start) ignition, start car see if it goes off.
I do Contracts, all day every day.

Wouldn't be the first garage to forget to reset the service interval system.

Can you explain that a little more simpler, i would like to try this there is no reset button as such as like conventional older cars
