M&S switch - applied just now - will reply within 48hrs - left it too late?

I had an issue with my address when I entered it in the application in that they couldn't find it from the post code and house number.
I have never had that happen before on an application so hoping it won't be an issue as I ended up having to enter it manually.
I also am waiting to hear from them having applied on Tuesday. Reading back through the thread it seems that you may get a letter in the post instead if you have been unsuccessful in your application and an email if you have been successful.
Not sure as to why you can't get an instant answer in this day and age like most banks etc.0 -
they do have to call you back to arrange the switch too.. and it was an (albeit pleasant) 25minute call:think:0

Just had an email and been declined
Guess I didn't reach their credit score but really wanted that 6% savings account.

A screenshot isn't really going to help anyone as I could mock up a web page that looks like M&S, then take a screenshot and say it''s legit.0

Not the email you wanted though :mad:vintagebrighton wrote: »Just had an email and been declined

I got rejected, but I have been on an account opening and switching spree lately.0

Well I had to phone them, but my wife was successfull like you.
So I phoned them and it was to do with how the address was formed, as I have a cottage name in front on the official PO address, that I did not state on the application.
After looking at the screenshots both my wife's address details and mine were identical - go figure!!
Both accounts are now good to go.
vintagebrighton - I think you will get an email today
There doesn't seem to be any logic with them does there?! Glad it all worked out in the end though!0 -

I woke up to my email from them today, unfortunately saying I had not been accepted. They gave no reason but said I would get a letter explaining why.
I wonder if the address issues I had played any part as I am not sure why else I wouldn't be accepted.0
