OK - I've narrowed it down (I think) to either Puerto Pollensa or Cala D'Or, or more vaguely, 'somewhere is Italy'. I've never been to Majorca - any ideas/thoughts on these?0

Certain places in Majorca can be quite hilly, where I went last summer was like that but a nice wee place (Cala Major) with a nice beach, 10-15 minutes away from Palma & Magaluf on the bus as well. So long as you avoid places like Magaluf you should be alright & avoid the "usual suspects" of drunken fools & people who seemingly don't know how to behave!
Granted I wasn't there with a toddler so can't really comment, but I'd say the area I was in was close enough to the airport that it won't be a problem for a little one. Maybe a little hilly but if anything it can help burn off some energy, only concern I'd have would be the fact the pavements are often non-existent!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
Thanks, I never thought about hills! Good exercise though, as you say!
I think I'm a bit past it for Magaluf! I'll be happy with a balcony where I can read with a glass of wine once LO is in bed...how life has changed!0 -
Menorca is a family orientated island. A lot quieter than Majorca0

Puerto Pollensa itself is lovely- very child friendly and beautiful beaches

I really do like the look of it. So...as it's been a while since I booked a package holiday - what would people think is reasonable to pay for a week in Majorca in May? I'm wondering if I've left it too late. I'm looking at £1K+ for me a 2 year old in self catering. There's one place that's a bit less, very well kitted out for children (indoor pool, toddler pool, soft play, playground) but about a 20-30 min walk into the town down the Pine Walk / Promenade that some people have said would be tricky with a pushchair. I've no problem with walking...no rush on holiday certainly - anyone familiar with this?
Now wondering whether I'd be better waiting until September.0 -
Scrap, that, same sort of price in September! I'm obviously a bit out of touch!0
