Good morning all. The sun is shining (or at least it was) but I have no view of it from the office. I think we are forecast a thunderstorm later.
Have a great day everyone.“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -
According to T.com it looks like CIF wipes will continue at £1 (the half price offer as supposed to end yesterday). So for anyone who prints the mymail coupon, they continue to be free
Anyone with NCG soup coupons left, they've just gone to £1.17 at Mr.T (bigger cartons than Sada). I'm addicted to the chicken and black pepper.
And finally, it seems the Bold 33's are still £5 at Mr.T, but remember MyS takes a day or two to calm down :rotfl:0 -

Obviously the fresher the eggs are when you eat them, the better tweets. I never keep them beyond a month but I've read they can be ok for about 6 weeks. I write the laid date on mine with a marker in case they get mixed up.
You can tell how fresh an egg is by putting it in a glass of water. If it floats it's fresh, if it sinks but sits upright it's not fresh but ok to use. If it sinks and lies horizontally on the bottom it's not fresh
I better get to work. Have a good day all
Umm fc I thinkthe egg test works the other way round, if it sinks it is fresh if it floats it is bad,(as the air pocket gets bigger the badder the egg). Me and the kids remember the test as "sink or stink" lol. Just though would come out of lurkdom just to make sure peeps don't throw away good eggs0 -

Glad I'm not going mad.
Think the science behind this is that egg shells are gas permeable and as the egg ages more air enters the egg. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Thank you fairclaire. :A
I eat a lot of eggs weekly and have a thing about checking the freshness and dates on box before I buy them.
I have heard about the glass test before but never tried it .
Enjoy your day0 -

On a sombre note I was very sad to read this, this morning. This man was truly remarkable and I had the privilege to see the plane he built a few years back. How sad his life ended the way it did

I think I agree with you on this one Chattmum that was always the impression I had regarding freshness of eggs...failing that I think when cracking an egg open your instincts tell you smell and how it looks:eek:0 -

Daft question time for those with chucky egg layers.
How long does the freshness of the egg last once its been layed ?
Generally, when you buy them in the shop, they can already be anything up to a month old  some are fresher than othersI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
