This forum and the internet in general run a lot quicker ... when your Virgin Media router is working properly
.
I have had issues for many months, as I think I have mentioned on here, with the signal dropping out, wifi password disappearing and then not being accepted on iPhones, etc. I have phoned up a few times and each time they have adjusted some settings, problems were identified as (variously) area issues, interference from neighbours wifi, interference from other gadgets/walls/TVs in the house. The router has been on and off more times than an Eastenders wedding (switch it off, switch it on again is even the default message when you phone up to report a fault - or it is for me!) and we have had factory resets a number of times.
Finally, it was playing up last week and the CS was more helpful than normal - he checked various settings, said it didn't look or sound right and he would send out an engineer. An engineer came and tested everything ... and came to the conclusion that it was the router - the same router I have been telling them did not seem to be working properly (pretty much since they sent it around this time last year!).
I thought we didn't see much difference when we were upgraded to the Superhub 2 and 100MBits service (or the speed upgrade before that, for that matter) but I am embarrassed to say I assumed it must be our kit and I was perhaps expecting too much. Apparently not, with the kit working properly it flies!
So the point of my message is if something does not seem to be working as you expect, don't get fobbed off - check online then report and report again until they sort it so that you get the service you are paying for.

Did a cc order for Calvin Klein CK1 earlier as this is something I do actually use, but it got subbed for some Jimmy Choo stuff. No idea what this is like, does anyone know if it's nice? My flump also got subbed - with a big bag of marshmallows
OMG Jimmy Choose perfumes are extremely nice and far more expensive than CK1. We did try a perfume hunt after there was none in N's c and c but nothing to get excited over.

Trouble with landlords is if you complain they know they do not have to do sod all. My landlady has only ever fixed one thing and that was the burst pipe. She always leaves fencing down until landlord next door gets fed up and does it himself. Luckily my neighbours have an adorable terrier called vinny who comes to my patio door as he knows I will go in garden and play ball with him. Next door are good and pick up any little lawn presents he leaves.
My boiler is so noisy now I have to turn the whole thing off at night but I know her answer will be 'if you don't like it leave'. Had to replace carpets at my own expense after falling down the stairs several times due to extremely worn carpet.
I agree take photos. When I moved in here letting agent supplied photos of any areas of concern but still took my own.

Just able to pop back, very briefly, and now I'm gone again, as forgot to cross out the Breadsticks that are off in M, as well as the Kitchen 50L Bin Liners that no longer have the More points offer on. So, no point anymore, on either of those! Also maybe should have mentioned the Schweppes cans packs are on £1.99 in M (maybe Avs M if favourable).
I forgot. I now remember:D. Ok- must go, unfortunately, and can't mess around adding emoticons as on borrowed back-up power time and who knows how much left.
See you whenever I get it sorted out. I suspect it's the battery. It's recharging but the charger plug in is getting very hot! Maybe v.dangerous as well. I've already replaced the adaptor - same problem - may be throwing bad money after bad but new battery on order - although it's still recharging, to be fair I've had it for about three or four years so it probably does need replacing. Unfortunately I thought I could get away with having a computer for so long and never replacing it(:money::rotfl:), but then forgot that, even then, the battery would need to be replaced even if it is still charging up, it looks like it may have developed a short and, if the computer is never able to be recharged and can't get mains power, it's not much use! Light bulbs breaking (in the last year!), things stopping. Everything stopping working here (frown!)... and laugh. In the meantime I have limited power and charging very carefully only a little bit at a time, therefore I don't want it to run out too much.
See you again, bye!:wave:0 -
Taking quick note of Febreze and Dettol BC nos and then leaving. I'm working blind, sort of. Thank goodness the comp is the one vs M.0
