Been so busy with the kids off school so have been MIA
Hope everyone had a great easterSIL was over from Australia so had a good catchup & finally got my new oven, hob & my very first dishwasher installed very cheaply thanks to hubby having friends in the trade :j :j :j
One question for dishwasher owners do you use rinse aid? My dishwasher load comes out slightly wet & glasses do have white spots on them sometimes & I have put dishwasher salt in the machine? Thanks
I use vinegar as rinse aid cheery. Hth xxCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

This has included the boiler being moved, flooring, new ceiling as well as all the usual kitchen cupboards. Its supposedly completed now but i have queries about what I should expect.
For instance, new skirting and architrave. i bought this, and its been installed, which i've been billed for. However, they have left the labels on? Also the mitering (?) at the top of the door isnt great. I dont know if Im being petty expecting better than this.
Also the flooring - laminate - there is a gap of 7mm next to the back door.
Ive had enough of pointing out things to them - from the kitchen door hinges only being held on by one screw each, holes being left in the external wall where drainage pipes were moved, crooked electrical sockets.
But this has been extremely un MSE, and they want their final payment - and I want rid of them!
So do i let it go, or moan again??
Make a list, and get them to sort it out. If the work isnt upto scratch it will affect their reputation, you need to remind them of this, without saying "sort it or I will leave bad reviews for you everywhere". Something more along the lines of "when it is all sorted I will be more than happy to chat to prospective customers about how happy I am with the finished work" is a non threatening way to do this.
If you dont sort it, every time you look at the badly mitred joint, the gap, the hole, the little thing that no one else noticed, it will remind you that you should have got them to fix it and you will blame yourself and call yourself stupid for years (learnt from experience) to come.
Bite the bullet and get things done right, other wise you will live with it for years.0 -

This morning I left to go and sort the chickens out and found the dividing wall between mine and my neighbours house has "collapsed". With no wind to speak of last night, [STRIKE]I find it hard to believe that it would have just come down with no reason. [/STRIKE]
Turns out that someone decided to "borrow" a car last night and wrap it round the telegraph pole at the end of my drive.
I had a migraine and slept through the whole thing- the crash, them trying to drive off, them dumping it, the police, the pick up truck, the lot :eek:
A neighbour just came across to tell us what happened as she's got it all on cctv :T
MG normally moans that I park the car too far back on the drive. He's thanking me for it this morning :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Easily done, I slept through a car driving into the side of the house just down the road a while back. Had to get through a substantial concrete pillared fence too.....0 -
BEWARE!
Right, big disaster on APG front here. Just did a CC and it only gave me just under a tenner instead of the £50 plus I was expecting because it said I had gone over the limit. Last three shops showing are well under and it has clearly picked up a CC done from a friend's account earlier this month which I paid for with my card. So instead of looking at the account email etc, it has checked the address on the credit card and decided that 'household' means 'address on credit card'. This may be one of the changes which previous posts were wondering about. Am rather gutted about this as I can't quite work out how to get a credit card legally at a different address... While I am extremely reluctant to say goodbye to £40, I don't want to query this since it would highlight both accounts which have been very profitable! May just try to return 10 Udis...
What do others think please?
If the accounts have been profitable then why not just take the hit, is it worth the hassle returning 10 Udis? Personally i would just let it be and be grateful that you did what you have0 -

Can I ask please was it the same credit card or a different card with the same address?“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -
I just logged in to the APG site (for online deliveries) and all looks the same - given some of the issues people are reporting I have claimed my vouchers and all present and correct (apart from lost a few pounds due to underestimating the previous voucher).
I only have one account as starting another would be another to keep track of (not judging anyone who has more than one - I hadn't completely ruled it out .... until the comments today!).
Also processed a few paper receipts and all looks the same to me.

In case anyone was wondering with the weather picking up, the following burgers did not compare A v all four:
2 x ASDA Extra Special Scotch Seasoned Beef Burgers (4... £6 NA
Each supermarket seems totally unprepared for the warmer weather - few burgers anywhere for BBQs!
