I've just had a most surreal experience

2 police officers knocked at the door. They asked me if the car parked out front is mine (it is, my drive was full of DS1 friends cars when I got home from shopping yesterday and Ive not been out since)

They then asked me why I have a 'shovel' in the boot :o:o:o I informed them it was a garden spade and it was in there because I'd just bought it and I had 4 other bags to carry so I left it in there to get out later (which is absolutely true!!)

The 'shovel' in question still has all the plastic wrapping on. I really wasn't happy with the way it was going so I asked them why they'd been looking in my propertyin the first place. The lady officer told me they can look in anyone's property if they see fit  fair enough I said but why are you asking me about my brand shiny new garden spade? Nothing....no answer. I said if you are looking at my property because I'm suspected of doing something then at least ask me. At that I was told it was unusual to have a spade in my boot  and they said some niceities and left??

    !!!!!!??

They might be legitamely looking for something? and I don't even mind that they looked in my car. But surely they should know the difference between a shovel and a spade :D:p :rotfl:

I hope they don't dig my patio up  :D :rotfl:

At last the Crimestoppers number does get followed up on :j:j

I was joking about the patio :p I guess I watched too much brookside in the 80s :rotfl::rotfl:

I live in a classic leafy suburban area where nothing ever happens. So quite why the police are looking in people's car boots is beyond me. There again, much of life passes me by lately so maybe there is some major crime going on that I'm blissfully unaware of :D :rotfl:

I hate changing the clocks. It arbuitury and stupid. I see know logical reason for it at all. It feels like one of those that happens just because we always have. I'm seriously thinking of boycotting it and carrying on regardless

Half the world it seems can't tell the difference between a shovel & a spade, we sell both & frequently get asked for the wrong thing.
People don't seem to know the difference between a nut & a bolt either.
As for digging the patio up, steer them in the direction of some ground that needs turning........... cheap gardening!! :rotfl::rotfl:

  • I think the idea of changing the clocks started in the first world war, mainly to save fuel required for lighting buildings etc for the war effort!

It would be great to remain on BST permanently, but we can't because of the Scots so we have to go back to GMT to appease those folks north of the border :o

Apologies to the Scots, but it is simple fact :)
