I don't have any VAIO/Sony control centre programme (or similar) that I can find on the hard drive. There is a button marked 'Vaio' next to the on button but pressing it doesn't do anything. Perhaps there was something but the previous owner/shop/whomever removed it?0 -
I will never understand why people would assume posts online are a windup. Seriously, who goes out of their way to post to a forum like this just to troll about laptop battery life?

I didn't assume, as explained above. You'd be surprised what people post on here which could only be a wind-up..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Hmmm 2 separate threads about battery life! Must be a wind up!0

The more impressive the laptop specs, the worse the battery life.
Fancy features (powerful/desktop processor, higher resolution bright screen, loud speakers, faster hard drive, whatever) take more energy than slower/dimmer/simpler counterparts. On the other end of the squeeze you have reduced weight, thinner form factor, etc. Something has to give.0 -
strangeotron wrote: »Ill try that, thanks. But surely the model shouldn't be the issue. A battery on full charge that has 2 and ahalf hours of use? Can that be right? I would have thought, unless damaged, about 6 hours at least
You're being very optimistic if you expect 6 hours!
I had an HP laptop running Windows 7, and 2-3 hours was typical.0 -
surely this thread is a wind-up ??
A wind-up?! Now that would save on batteries!
strangeotron wrote: »The only other mobile device i have is a tablet (which holds more charge ironically).
Are you sure the tablet battery holds more charge than the laptop? Chances are that the power-consumption of the tablet is less than the laptop, so the fully-charged tablet may well work for longer than the fully-charged laptop, even though the laptop battery can hold more charge.0 -
I don't have that programme installed. Thanks anyway.
Maybe I should see what the shop I brought it from says.0 -
