You're assuming that she lives in an area where there are buses and that her disability doesn't prevent her from using a bus.

her disability does not stop her using a car or driving one though. the implications of her having a panic attack driving would be much more severe behind the wheel of car that it would be on a bus or in a taxi,

the point i am making is there are other ways to get work without having to have a mobility car .

a lot of disabled people or people who have disability manage to get to work without a mobility car the OP said they wanted one for a couples of months so they can save up to buy one .

the benefits system does now work like that the DWP have said she is not entitled to a mobility car based on how her conditions effect her they seem only to want to appeal the decision just to get a mobility car

The dvla can suspended licences for drivers suffering from anxiety disorders and panic attacks...so she would have to inform them and any insurer which may lead to a refusal onto the Motability Scheme in the first place.....As I mentioned before Access to Work maybe a better option.

She doesn't like being around crowded places - and the taxis everywhere are pretty expensive. In any case it's all moot now, my brother is just going to send the money over to her, he told her not to be too hard on herself and just accept the help, so on friday me and her are going car hunting. I told her about the DVLA she said she'll call them and let them know, she said if it's bad news I'll let you know. So, I think it might be alright. actually I'll text her find out.

But thanks to everyone for the help though. It's amazing how someone can screw your entire life up, and the person can get off with a mickey mouse sentence.

Yeah I know what you mean, but I'd be very resentful with the DWP is something like this happened to me and they, and expected me to live on small handouts, when I was earning a lot, I was paying huge amounts of taxes. That reminds I need to claim my overpaid tax back lol. My weekend bills normally come out to 500 odd quid, not even taking into consideration petrol, and utilities, thats just friday night partying money.
