Who pays the postage?

I need to return a dehumidifier due to it arriving faulty, it's leaking.

No response from the seller, but I've had an ebay message with a link for printing the return labels.

Who pays for the postage?

I won the auction which included free P&P

  • Hi,
The seller should always refund postage if an item is returned as faulty.

Its leaking? Have you got the continuous drain plug or valve open?

No, there's a tiny hole on the base of the unit

OK thanks, if the seller hasn't acknowledged my dissatisfaction, how do I claim my return postage costs?

If you have a link to download postage labels are they not prepaid?

You state you got a link from ebay for a returns label.....how did you get it? Was it because the seller accepted the return? Was it because ebay found in your favour....

Something more than you messaging the seller and them not replying must have happened for ebay to send you a returns label link...

It sounds like you won the case or the seller accepted the return in which case the seller pays for shipping

I'm in a similar position and confused as to who ends up paying for the return postage. Received and item which was not as described, contacted the seller but not response so opened a case through ebay last night. Today receive a message from ebay stating seller accepting return and a prepaid label has been sent by ebay. Will they charge this against my paypal account or will the seller be paying it?

I have used the labels in the last and they have always been pre paid

The label is pre-paid but I'm concerned as to whether the postage will be charged to my paypal.

Sellers are charged for returns now where you state the item is not as described. So you won't have to pay for it. If you said you didn't like it or changed your mind then you will have to pay for it.
