Window sill repair/replace - shoddy work

Had some work done last month. It was done in 3 hours rather than the estimated 2 days. I was too ill to inspect at the time but here is an example of the results now I could get up a ladder:

Some of the wood is still soft and I assume there is no way they could argue that sanding, filling, priming and two coats of (quick dry?) paint on 5 sills would take 3 hours?
Cheers

OP who did the work.....was it a cold caller or tradesman who was recommended to you0

I had three quotes. In the end it was a cold caller - a recommended person couldn't be bothered to look at it. They are a registered Ltd company with a website and contact details. I had been searching for 18 months and just decided it had to be done.
The thing is what can I reasonably expect to have been done. I expected sanding, filling, priming and two coats - 2 days work which they did in three hours because it was about to rain. The pictures above and below seem to indicate only one coat of paint which is already cracking. Supposedly guaranteed for 10 years. It was £750.
Cheers

Hmm...well, I'm thinking they can't answer back with a photo, but you're right, perhaps a more informal email to start with :-)
I suspect they barely put one coat of paint on, but it's proving it and convincing them to do it again.

I think best to just gauge how they react etc , letters are pretty formal...Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

It appears not. They're proud members of Yell.com and Rated People though :-)0
