NERO - Doesn't recognise my recorder

Hi

I had to reinstall nero as I had to restore my laptop due to a virus. It now isn't recognising my recording device. I can remember that I had this problem when I first installed the software, but can't remember what I did to resolve it!

Can anyone help?????

Have you restarted since you reinstalled?

Are you the Administrator? You'll have to sign in as Administrator and install Nero from there. Alternatively, if you have the Administrator password, you can assign yourself, as a user, burning rights.

Yes, I've restarted. I have checked that my laptop recognises the recorder,which it does. If I go to Nero > choose recorder it just displays'image recorder' and not mine.

I am really annoyed as I know this happened before, but I can't remember how it was solved.

I think I'm the administrator - it's a home laptop.

I'm using Nero 5 which was shipped with the laptop. I have checked and I am the administrator, and logged in as that.

Have you looked in the device manager - is there a yellow exclamation mark visable?

You might need an ASPI driver.

Thanks for all your help. It still doesn't work, but on searching this site I found details about other software that I could use.

I only put photos on CDs - nothing complicated, so I now have success!
