Hello Vineeth. You might not want to disclose price details but this is a money saving site. Perhaps you could explain why it is Symantec's policy to charge an annual online renewal fee which is far in excess of the cost of buying the product afresh with a new product key at sites like Amazon.
I'm not a Norton basher, I love the product, but your renewal pricing policy is quite simply appalling and it's been like that for years.
We constantly strives to provide the greatest value to our customers with our full line of Norton security products and services. Symantec products may be purchased through authorized online sites or retailers who by law independently set the price for products on their stores.
However; if you contact our support team, as a valued customer, we can offer to meet the current prices offered by our authorized retailers or resellers where the difference in price falls within 25% of the current Norton Online Store price.
I have also passed your feedback to the concerned team.

Norton Support“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Symantec. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Norton Support
I bought a new pack for my annual renewal saving around 40% of the online renewal cost, so I won't be bothering your support team.

That's not a good sign - Symantec trawling the forums for business.0

I don't think Norton does it for that reason. It's more to address questions and concerns about the program. It is actually very light on the system and has good detection rates now. Opinions that date back a while perhaps need reappraisal. That's not a good sign - Symantec trawling the forums for business.Error! - Keyboard not attached. Press any key to continue.0 -

Just Google "norton internet security crash problem issue" you'll get plenty of hits.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
I'm not sure that counts. Try Googling anything and you'll get plenty of hits. I tried Norton Security 2015 recently. It's not the current program because I like to try a few out but while installed, it was quite light on the system and worked OK. A long thread here that, overall, I think gives it the thumbs up:Fightsback wrote: »Just Google "norton internet security crash problem issue" you'll get plenty of hits.

I fully agree with you. The product is superb and has never let me down yet on any of our five PCs, apart from that little glitch a couple of weeks ago when a pushed update caused IE to become unusable but they soon sorted that out with a pushed update to fix it.
My only gripe is with the renewal pricing, nothing more. Someone in their accounting policies department needs to be replaced.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -
Not going to happen Dave, come to BT/TT/Sky and pay next to nothing for 3/6/12 Months or Npower/SSE/British Gas etc similar deal, hmmm one thinks what about the loyal customer, marketing/accounting teams think 90% of said "loyal customers" are lazy/apathetic/idiots, end of story.I fully agree with you. Mr Symantec(Vineeth) take that to the department concerned (not the concerned department). Get real give those who have supported you the same, no, a better deal, not the new customers.Simple economics don't treat those you have like idiots, oh BTW I buy mine from Amazon at 33% less than I can get it from you guys, and I get Kaspersky free from my bank too, but I prefer not to pay over the odds.0 -
Google I have a problem with .......... bet you won't many hits in the last millenium. Not the best argument I have seenFightsback wrote: »Just Google "norton internet security crash problem issue" you'll get plenty of hits.

If you are with Sky Broadband they have a trial with McAffee for a year then you pay for it afterwards. Barclays offer Kapersky with some of their accounts, this is my choice of IS as its a good product. I buy from eBay for 3 PCs for a year for about £15 or so, and it's legitimate software not fake or cracked. I wouldn't buy from a shop or directly simply because of the price.0
