Help bailiffs coming tomorrow!

I got a notice of enforcement letter

From a high court writ of control based apon judgement obtained against me by Eon

because of an outstanding electricity bill 6700 odd pounds

its been transferred to the high court from a county court for enforcement


they want to take control of my stuff










Now I cant afford to pay them I have nothing, im not intimidated by baliffs but I dont want to loose my stuff.



Can they force entry with a lock smith?



Can they push past me to get it?


I wont fall for any of their tricks to try and get in (like asking to use the toilet), im always in ready to stand in their way if they do use a lock smith apparently they cant push past me, and all windows and doors are locked always and im always in anyway. (rented flat) and theve never been inside before.



I only have a computer I use for games and a punch bag and some weights that they could take, the rest is just a few clothes fridge oven books etc




What can I expect?


Will they force their way in using the police a lock smith or just push their way past me?


If I keep not letting them in forever what happens?

That doesnt help or answer my question at all.

What can they do?

Can they push past me?

Can they get me arrested?

Can they use a lock smith to get in?

Can they detach the door to get in etc?

Or is it a case where they cant do jack unless you are a wimp/easily tricked?

An enforcement officer will visit you and may take your belongings `this is called taking control.

What does that mean?

High Court bailiffs can AFAiK force entry and take goods. Is the bill genuine?

It looks like they can only force their way in when it is commercial premises (though the article was written in 2010 so things might have changed).

You are correct. I was assuming it was commercial as the bill was so high.

Its not commercial (residential) I just havnt paid my electricity bill for 5 years.

So basically I have nothing to worry about, so long as I keep my windows and doors shut and dont let them in or get tricked into letting them in. They cant use a lock smith or take my door off or anything?

So basically I can just keep on not letting them in and they will keep spending more money trying to get money back and all the time they will be making a loss since I have no money and wont have for a long long time.

As the debt is with a High Court Enforcement Agent (now called an Enforcement Agent) then they have slightly different enforcement methods and fees. If a payment proposal is outlined at the 'Compliance stage' (this is defined as the period outlined in the Notice of Enforcement) then a condition of accepting a payment arrangement is that the enforcement agent must attend your property to get the agreement signed. A Fee of £190 plus VAT is charged.

As this debt is a personal debt (as opposed to being for a company with commercial premises) then there is no right to force entry. However, if you have a motor vehicle this is at serious risk of being taken into control.

Temporarily you'll be OK. The next step may be them seeking a court order to disconnect your supply, which they can do even without access to your home. If you're a vulnerable customer they may instead install an extra prepayment meter so that you can still obtain electricity.

Alternatively they could move down the criminal prosecution route based on an assumption that your intent is to steal electricity, which you appear to have proved quite thoroughly after five years.
