Lukki Lu I have a feeling that winning straight off like that didn't do you any favours. Try to think of that as beginners luck, and don't assume that means you should expect to win regularly. Most here enter hundreds of comps every day, and most of us can have long dry spells without winning anything. With me, for example, I can go for a few months without winning a thing - but then I may get a few wins altogether.

I think it's best to enter them, and then forget about them. Enjoy the 'buzz' of never knowing if the next email you get will be a WEM, and the daily excitement of the postie passing, because who knows what s/he might bring you today, or perhaps tomorrow. I think with comping it's best to enjoy the hope and anticipation, rather than rely on actual wins to make it worthwhile. Those wins will hopefully come, and when they do it's lovely, but the anticipation is likely to be better than the reality, if that makes sense.

The best way to increase the odds is to enter comps which are not on this forum.

If you enter comps on here that others have found and posted, it's a shame you don't feel able to reciprocate.

    too many comps..not enough time!

Isn't it lucky for you (for all of us) that not everyone has that attitude?

  • It was an observation not a suggestion.

And quite a funny observation too. However some people spend a lot if time/money listing the comps on here for all to enter.
Between all the various comping forums ( at least 4 that I know of) very few comps will be unlisted/unposted anywhere at all.

Hi, am genuinely sorry if you feel that way about my response. I didn't mean it to be nasty. What you said did read like a suggestion to me. But I definitely wasn't trying to get at you about it. I just wanted to put the other viewpoint across.

Apologies if I misunderstood you, but your comment was quite ambiguous!

Good Lord a new comper who has only won one prize since starting just over one month ago. Verily my heart doth bleed for them.
