  • Fog lights are only fitted to the rear.
    Front are "driving lamps"
If set correctly they spread a low wide beam to light up the edge of the road and can be quite useful on dark country roads.

Cobblers. They're two different things. Fog lamps light up a low wide spread, driving lamps light up a distance in front of you similar to main beam headlamps but as an assist device.

Have the rules changed. Driving lamps come on with your main beam.

Fog lamps are for foggy conditions and you need the warning lamp.

They switch on without main beam and have a fog light symbol when they
    are on = fog lights.

Do they only switch on with main beam? = driving lamps.

Rules used to simple back then :)
