That's TERRIBLE!
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience, once you're feeling a bit better you should possibly contact Woolies head office or write to them detailing this experience, and obviously never ever shop there again
I've never heard of something so unprofessional, discourteous and downright rude!
Over something so trivial as a pack of sweets! :mad:0 -
Oh what a shame. Not sure what you can do but hopefully someone on here can advise.maybe there is a head office or something you can complain to.travelover0

If it was the store manager then he needs retraining! If l were you l would write down key points so that tomorrow you can telephone customer services/head office and ask if this is how they treat loyal customers.Dont be too upset you know you are not guilty -but l would be the same especially having it done so publicly and nastily.big hugs:j this money saving is such fun:T0

sonee - oh my god! how terrible you must complain to the head office its awful! i always go in there mostly every morning before work but i have noticed recently there is a different man in there and they are watching ppl really weirdly,i hate going in when im with my son as i have a puchchair and i feel followed by more than one member of staff-well no i dont feel followed i am followed so for the last two visits in there with him i havent brought anything at all because of it.:j cazian :j
If i was useful please press thanks0 -
thanks everybody-I have just got back from here again with my little brother who was desperate to stick up for me but the store has closed. There was the security man from the next shop(marks&spencer) who was waiting outside who we got talking too and he was disgusted by what he heard but he also said that it was the manager and hinted that that particular person may have prejudiced views about ethnic origin. He advised me to call head office in the mornign and complain.
Too think that us bootsers feel weird going into boots everyday! At least they don't treat us like i have been treated todayLove can tame the wildest0 -
sonee2405 - sorry to hear about your experience at Woolies. What a nightmare! I suppose the only thing that could have been worse was experiencing the same at a Boots store.
To keep this Boots related...
Went to Braehead shopping centre (DH suggestion:eek: :j )
After having lunch, went to WH Smith whilst DH and DS went to some model shop nearby. I wandered downstairs only to spot accross the shop the wonderful Boots. :T Was actually suppose to go back to meet DH and DS but was only going to take a quick peek. Although quick peek never is a quick peek when there is a clearance section.
Had to phone DH and explain how I managed to end up downstairs and at Boots.I lost reception so carried on browsing but thought I'd better phone DH back incase he was expecing me back upstairs. Thankfully he was happy to meet me downstairs in Boots.
Managed to get 2 x 64mb Lexmark memory cards at £1.50 each, 1 x 1st birthday (boy card) 15p, 3 x 3 pk magnetic photo frames 5p each. Did pick up some mini Toni & Guy hairsprays for 50p but SA wouldn't let me use the 200 points voucher so left those.
They hads about 20 mini bottles of Toni & Guy hairsprays left about 20 - 30 x 3 pk magnetic photo frames (after a couple took a box of about 15-20 of them), several blue soap dish? with a lid, about 3 random valentines cards marked at 30p (but would go through at 15p at the till), several other random bits which didn't interest me/ I didn't look too closely at. This was at the back behind the photo processing bit.
Hope this helps anyone going to Braehead (Glasgow).Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
Boots points: £0.28
Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)

Sonee, that is terriable - I can only imagine how you've been made to feel.
May i suggest you have a look at http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk It's a website for advice and what you can do in these circumstances, amongst others.
In particular have a look at this thread as it looks like someone had a similar experience to yours http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-consumer-issues/56176-wrongly-accused-shoplifting-treated.html
I like the idea that a complaint letter should be sent to head office, but also to cc the store manager.
I urge you to register with the above site and post what has happened to you, in particular as you state the manager grabbed your bag and searched through it - i'm sure this is not allowed at all - he can only request for you to empty the contents of the bag, for which you have every right to refuse.
Another pointer in your letter is to insist that the security video footage is reviewed.
But, please, please post your incident on the above website and let them guide you through your options, they will even proof read your complaint letter. There is no cost involved and they are really friendly bunch - just like us.0 -
I am sorry. And I feel for you because the same thing happened to me, but at BOOTS. It was when my boys were small. They had had lollipops and I picked up some baby wipes, decided they were to expensive and I would wait till i got home to wash thier hands, and I got chased out, made to empty my bag. So I know exactly how you feel. I didn't go back in Boots for 20 years.
I do feel I am getting my own back now, when you kind people put me on to the various glitches. Ha HaAnyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

sonee - how awful! Get on the phone to customer services tomorrow, tell them EVERYTHING, he deserves to be sacked!
I had a little joy today - got 2 Botanics mens dermabrasion kits at £1.62 each after voucher (yay), 2 lots of sanctuary toning body streamliner - just because I adore sanctuary now! Also got a gillette nitro razor for OH for £2.52 which wasn't bad. CS only put 100points on my card, not 200points! Need to call them again
If any of you ladies are still doing the boots meet on thursday, I can come now, got my days switched at work (I actually love part-time sometimes), and my pigsback voucher should have arrived!~*Cerenia*~

Hi. Having stocked up on sanctuary stuff back when there was the offer of the weekend bag, I've now realised I may have made a mistake. I have one The Sanctuary Body Moisture Spray which I opened then to try and am using now and the smell is not nice anymore. Instead of the lovely sanctuary smell, now it is a weird smell. Has anyone had this experience?
I'm beginning to worry since I bought a few, also as pressies, and now I realise the scent disappeared and is replaced by a weird smell...
PS: Sonee, I really hope you can get back at the guy from woolworths. It is terrible to acuse someone publicly of sthg like that. If they can't afford more security and cameras to make sure no one is falsely accused, they should at least have had the courtesy of not accusing someone over a pack of sweets. I don't know any site, but perhaps there is somewhere you can leave a bad review for the service in that particular store...0
