  • Thanks MSE for making me aware of this. I ordered the red selection on 29 Sept and it arrived on 10 Oct. My wife and I are halfway through the wines having consumed one of each type and can say all are decent wines. The free crockery has a nice feel although one plate did crack when very hot food put on it but overall outstanding value. I've just ordered another case for which postage is payable but still worthwhile. In the past we've subscribed to Laithwaites and Sunday Times Wine Club (which is very good wine) and while I wouldn't put Giordano wines at the same level it is still an excellent deal.
  • Delivered today for there opening offer after waiting 11 days. On delivery two of the wines advertised were changed to what looks like cheaper alternatives and the food delivered was all different apart form the Balsamic Vinegar. Considering I was looking forward to the Olive Oil, Pesto and Amaretti Biscuits what was delivered was predominantly mushroom based which doesn't help when my wife dislikes mushrooms. If I had know about the mushrooms I would have chose a different offer.
    All in all it is a good deal if you are okay with the goalposts being changed

  • Ordered for delivery before Christmas, nothing arrived. Spoke to delivery company who says they have lost it or damaged it as it can't be found and have told company. Requested a refund which has been refused as I have not sent the wine back - that I never received.
    No email address for customer services which is not a good sign, web form filled out 3 times and each time ignored, live chat didn't work and when I rang was told that they won't refund without the return - even though they acknowledge that this has nothing to do with me. Customer services very rude and refused to pass me on to a supervisor.
    I was also told that the only way to make a complaint is via fax.
    As Martin would say I have found them to be a "Shyster" of a company.
    I am now logging this transaction with my bank as fraud.
    I've had no problems with Virgin or Naked wines who have both been brilliant.
    This companies idea of customer service is no where near mine.
    Based on my experience, I won't go anywhere near them again or recommend anyone else does.

    I have ordered several from this company via a third party website eg [Living Social website].


    The only problem for some will be longish delivery times. Otherwise good tasting wine.
    Reading other comments it appears they have difficulty if you order direct from them.


    In one of my posts I have listed the phone number they use to call me about " special offers".
  • I have ordered direct from them a few times now, all with special offers, free dinner set, free food hamper etc and never had any problems - it does take a while for delivery (which I always get free) but no complaints - lovely wine, lovely food, great crockery!

    Having found the Giordano offer on here, I tried it as a gift for a friend. It was delivered in a timely manner and the recipient was absolutely delighted with it all. He described it as being an over-generous gift, but it was no more that the cost of a case of wine - and included plates and other goodies!

    A month or so later we had a phone call from Giordano asking if we were happy with the first order and would we like to place another. We thought why not, but for ourselves this time. Again, it was delivered in a timely manner and the wine was excellent for the price.

    Based on our experience I'd recommend this service. My guess is that, given duty free trade between EU countries, what we're not paying on duty more than covers the courier cost. For the price the wine is much better than we could buy locally in the UK. I expect we'll become regular customers.
