Maybe ignore is sometimes a good idea???

It depends on which PPC you're going to ignore, how much you know about the technicalities of all this stuff, whether you're going to take the risk of a Small Claims Court appearance and/or debt collector letters hanging over you for up to six years.

Or you tackle it head on, using free advice from the forum, or, as you have, pay a reputable, knowledgable organisation to fight it for you. This kills it dead.

Will you definitely ignore the next PCN?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I'm hoping not to attract any more, but it has been an education.
I felt unsure of being successful at appeal, as they seemed to be getting better at counter-arguing the claims, so there is clear, better signage etc. In fact the appeals co. have refunded my money as there was nothing for them to do.

Very grateful for the information and advice on this site. Although it has been stressful, I am so relieved it is over and I even took the kids out for dinner as a treat, which is much better than paying NCP!

Excellent news on getting this kicked into the long grass - by whichever method.

While we help the hundreds who fall foul of this 'industry' and we like to goad PPC world, the best way of killing them off is never to fall foul of their self-serving rules and regs.

There'll be the gung-ho among us who will seek out their tickets and beat them hands down at every opportunity, they know what they are doing and how to handle it. Not for the faint-hearted or naive. And in the grand scheme of things they are no more than a tick on the elephant's 4rse.

Hope your kids enjoyed their meal. I'm more at the stage of enjoying my kids' meals, which they no doubt believe is a good investment in the context of their inheritance! :rotfl:

I decided to use Private Parking Appeals Ltd. and they finally got back to me but said that when they went to appeal online, it was cancelled. I have checked and it has been cancelled for no apparent reason. It would have been interesting to know why, maybe it was just too much hassle to pursue past 21 days. Maybe ignore is sometimes a good idea???
Ignoring a PCN on the windscreen can be a good tactic purely because, as you found, a few are cancelled and no letter comes out to the keeper. And if and when the letter arrives the keeper can still appeal.

Glad it was sorted. Can't say much more except I know you got a refund of course from that company, not a scam.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
